  1. I spent some time figuring out who was the Most Accurate Judge. I did this by comparing the judges rankings versus the final tallied rankings. If they had ranked Edric #1 and Edric came in #1 that round, they got ZERO points. If Edric came in 3rd, they got 2 points. One point for each position away from their final ranking. Like golf, low scores were best. I spent about 45 minutes figuring it out for the Round 1 scores one afternoon. Then I realized that Dave Leigh could probably set up a spreadsheet that could do the calculations for all the rounds in about the same time, so I gave it up. But you might be surprised at which judges were the "most accurate"! (And does that mean MOST influential?)

As always, thanks for SpinTunes #1. Congrats to Kevin and Ross for making it to the final round and to Kevin for getting the "No-Prize" win!

I'm thinking of running an interim songwriting or recording project or contest through "The White Elephant Music Club" on facebook. My hope is that "The White Elephant Music Club" can be a place where folks can stay connected and interact between and around music events like SpinTunes, SongFight and the Nur Ein.

    1. Actually, *I* am the most accurate judge, as I always get it right. Unfortunately, the others are so off the mark that they skew the results, making it look as if I'm not correctly identifying the best entries. *sigh* :)

  2. Aw, man. Hope I can get my name in here after Spintunes #2.

  3. @Rusty: statistically, the most accurate judge would be the one without whom the average scores would change the least. So you could argue that he/she was actually the *least* influential.

JoAnn had two shadows, not one. Also, they missed least points: all time and most voted last by all judges.

  5. Sorry to say it again (not really) but the stats above only show (to me! ;' ) )that the 'cumulative' voting is the fairest way to run this.
Cumulative to the last four and THEN zero them for a *best score* from all entrants for the win.

  6. Third most played shadow for the win! :D

  7. Oh, the pain of missing the top four longest songs by just two seconds! :)
