I know, I know. You're quavering to know how you did in Round 1. Well, the judges are still finalizing their decisions, but the minim I can do is give you a head start on Round 2. Don't get crotchety; I'll be breve. Read on for your Round 2 challenge:

All-Request Listening Party

While we wait patiently for the judges to complete the herculean task of listening to, reviewing, and ranking all 30 Round 1 entries, we have a chance to revisit some old favorite songs from throughout SpinTunes history.

Tommy G will be hosting an All-Request Listening Party tomorrow, Monday March 17 at 8 pm EDT. He's eager to play your favorites, so if there are songs you'd like to hear from any past SpinTunes tournament, let us know by commenting on this blog post, emailing SpinTunesContest@gmail.com, or getting in touch with me on Discord.

If you missed Monday evening's Listening Party, never fear! The full Round 1 album, with brand-new cover art by our faithful and talented graphic designer Matt "Shoobs" Schubbe, is available to stream or download on Bandcamp or in the player embedded below.

ST24.1 Listening Party and Deadline News

The SpinTunes 24 Round 1 submission deadline has passed. Congratulations to the 30 artists and bands who submitted by the deadline! We also received 4 non-competing shadow entries, for a total of 34 songs in Round 1!

Your first chance to hear all 34 songs is at tonight's Listening Party, hosted on YouTube by Tommy G of Boffo Yux Dudes. The Listening Party will begin at 8 pm EDT. Join us on YouTube or embedded below.

With 30 entries in Round 1, here is our elimination schedule for the tournament (barring ties on the elimination threshold):

• Round 1: 30 contestants
• 9 eliminated
• 21 move on
• Round 2: 21 contestants
• 9 eliminated
• 12 move on
• Round 3: 12 contestants
• 8 eliminated
• 4 move on
• Final Round: 4 contestants
• 3 eliminated
• 1 Champion declared

But wait! Longtime SpinTunes competitors know all about shadow reinstatement - if you're cut from the competition, you're still encouraged to submit a shadow entry in the next round. If any of the qualifying contestants fail to submit or miss the deadline, your entry might be reinstated, as if you were never eliminated!

As you work on your Round 1 entries, you may be wondering who you're up against in the competition. Well, forty artists and bands have put their names in the hat, and it's an exciting mix of returning SpinTunes veterans and first-time competitors. Read on to find out who they are!

ST24 Round 1 Challenge

Here we are at the beginning of a new SpinTunes tournament. Over four rounds, you'll need to impress our judges with your songwriting skills if you want to stay in contention. If you play your cards right, and if the dice roll in your favor, who knows? You might take home the title of SpinTunes 24 Champion.

Welcome to SpinTunes 24. I'm your contest administrator, Micah Sommersmith, and I'm excited to begin a new tournament!

If you’ve competed before, welcome back! The rules below are the same as in SpinTunes 23.

I'll also remind you that there is a Suggestion Box that you can use to submit suggestions for challenges or rule changes at any time. You'll find it in the left-hand sidebar if you're viewing this on a PC.
